Who is it for?
This beginner-friendly course is ideal for anyone who wants to start creating their own games inside Fortnite. You will learn the fundamentals of UEFN step by step — from building your first island and adding gameplay mechanics to publishing your project and collaborating with others.
Whether you are a Fortnite player curious about design, an aspiring developer looking for an accessible way into Unreal Engine, or a creative who wants to experiment with interactive worlds, this course gives you the structure to begin.
What You’ll Learn

Learn about the history of Fortnite and how it grew into one of the largest platforms for game creators. Set up UEFN and explore Fortnite Creative.
Practice: create a simple 1v1 map with a few walls and weapons.

Add more game mechanics using Fortnite devices. Learn how publishing works and use the Creator Portal.
Practice: create a 1v1 against a computer-controlled opponent (CPU) and publish your island.

Use URC (revision control) for project management and team collaboration. Explore event bindings with Fortnite devices, props, prefabs, landscapes, and island settings.
Practice: collaborate on your island and publish an update.

Take your first steps with Verse, Fortnite’s scripting language. Learn how it connects devices and boosts your creative power.

Understand Fortnite’s constraints: project size, memory, performance, and platform limits.
Get a peek into advanced topics such as materials, sounds, NPCs, VFX, UI, Metahumans, lights, world partition/open world, modeling tools, Scene Graph, and more.

By the end of the course, you’ll be able to:
Start and publish your own Fortnite project through the Creator Portal
Build fun game mechanics with devices, props, and prefabs
Use event bindings, island settings, and templates to shape your world
Collaborate with teams using revision control and playtesting
Create marketing assets (like thumbnails) to showcase your published game
Take your first steps into Verse scripting and advanced UEFN topics
Schedule & Format
Classes will be scheduled on Fridays or Saturdays, with options at 09:00 or 18:00 (Estonian time). When you register, you can indicate which day and time work best for you.
The course will begin in Autumn 2025, once the group is full.
All sessions are live on Zoom and held in a small group for personalized support.
