“Obiwan has a real gift for breaking down complex Unreal concepts into clear steps. He never just gives you the answer, he shows you how to find it yourself. That makes all the difference for beginners who want to keep learning beyond the course.”
— Kenet, previous student
“The Unreal Fundamentals course gives you the structure to actually start learning Unreal properly. Instead of random tutorials, you’ll have a clear path — from editor basics to Blueprints and inputs. By the end, you’ll know how to put together your own small prototype and keep building from there.”
— Joonas, previous student
“’I have really enjoyed working with Obiwan. He’s an excellent mentor who takes his time with students, explains things clearly, and makes sure no one is left behind.”

Who is it for?
This beginner-friendly course is perfect for artists, designers, and aspiring developers who want to start creating their own games. You’ll learn the core systems of Unreal Engine in small, live sessions - from programming and Blueprints to physics, animation, UI, AI, and more - while building your own playable prototype step by step.
Whether you’re curious about programming, prototyping, or technical design, this course gives you the tools to begin.
What You’ll Learn
-
Discover how game development has evolved and why game engines exist. Learn what makes Unreal different, explore its history, and install Unreal Engine with confidence. You’ll also meet FAB, Unreal’s asset ecosystem.
Hands-on: create your first project, explore templates, navigate the Unreal Editor (viewport, content browser, level editor, panels, plugins, settings), and make a game build.
-
Start with the essentials of programming: variables, data types, functions, events, and object-oriented basics. Then dive into Unreal Blueprints and the Game Framework - how classes initialize, communicate, and manage gameplay.
Practice: create a custom Character, replace the default Game Mode character, and add moving platforms.
-
Learn Unreal’s Enhanced Input framework and how to bind and unbind player actions.
Practice: create a kill box that respawns the player, build an end-game trigger, and add a jump pad.
-
Understand collisions, traces, and forces, and how they’re used in gameplay.
Practice: add a respawn box, end-game point, and jump pad with physics interactions.
-
Learn how animations work in Unreal: Animation Graphs, State Machines, nodes, Montages, root motion, and additive animations.
Practice: build a locomotion system with new character animations and create a dash montage.
-
Explore UI design with Unreal’s UMG and Widget Editor. Learn about menus, HUDs, widget components, and how to pull game data into your interface.
Practice: design a main menu and create a health bar that updates dynamically.
-
Understand how AI works in games: AI Controllers, Behavior Trees, Blackboards, decorators, navigation, sight, and hearing.
Practice: create a patrolling enemy that attacks when spotting the player, implement a health component, make enemies deal damage, and add ragdoll effects when the player is defeated.
-
Learn how saving works in Unreal Engine. Create a Save Game class, save checkpoints, and load progress.
Practice: add “New Game” and “Continue” buttons to your menu, save at checkpoints, and reload progress when continuing.
By the end, you’ll have gone through the core building blocks of Unreal Engine and created multiple small mechanics that fit together into a playable prototype.
